Maintenance & MDU Builds

Maintenance & MDU Builds

Scheduled plant care and multi-dwelling builds, riser to unit.

Overview

What This Actually Involves.

Plant does not stay built. Backhoes find conduit, closures take water, squirrels find drops, and a building that was wired for coax in 1998 needs fiber to every unit without displacing the residents living there now.

ConLit runs maintenance contracts and MDU builds as ongoing relationships rather than one-off tickets — the same crews, familiar with your plant and your standards.

Scope

What's Included.

Scheduled maintenance

Routine inspection of closures, cabinets, and aerial plant before small problems become outages.

Damage repair

Dig-in and storm damage response, including temporary restoration to get service back fast.

Drop placement

Aerial and buried drops, including the restoration on buried work.

MDU riser builds

Riser conduit, distribution enclosures, and floor-by-floor build-out in occupied buildings.

In-unit fiber

Termination inside the unit, scheduled around residents rather than against them.

Property coordination

Working directly with property managers so access is arranged before the crew arrives.

How We Run It

Four Steps, No Surprises.

01

Walk the property

Existing pathway, riser availability, and where the demarc actually is — which is rarely where the drawings say.

02

Plan around residents

Access windows, notice to units, and a sequence that keeps common areas usable while we work.

03

Build & terminate

Riser, distribution, and in-unit work completed floor by floor rather than tearing up the whole building at once.

04

Test & turn over

Every unit tested and documented, so activation does not turn into a truck roll per resident.

Common Questions

Straight Answers.

Do you work in occupied buildings?

Most of our MDU work is occupied. It changes the sequencing and the notice requirements, not whether it can be done.

Can you take over maintenance on plant you did not build?

Yes. We will walk it first and tell you honestly what condition it is in before quoting an ongoing agreement.

What is your response time on damage?

It depends on the agreement. Standard maintenance contracts are next business day; emergency and storm response is covered separately.
